At Little Handprints Woolooware, sustainability is woven into everyday life. We believe that helping children care for the environment begins with simple, meaningful experiences that inspire respect for nature, community and future generations.

Our Nurture Circle
At Little Handprints Woolooware, every child deserves to feel safe, seen, heard and valued. Our Nurture Circle is a special time each day where children and educators come together to build trusting relationships, strengthen emotional wellbeing and create a genuine sense of belonging.
Inspired by the principles of secure relationships and emotional connection, our Nurture Circle provides children with a safe space to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences. Through meaningful conversations, storytelling, songs, mindfulness, games and group discussions, children learn to recognise and express emotions, develop empathy, build resilience and strengthen positive relationships with others.
Our educators gently guide children to understand that all feelings are welcome and that they are supported through both joyful moments and life's everyday challenges. Children are encouraged to listen respectfully, take turns, solve problems together and celebrate each other's ideas and achievements.
Nurture Circle also provides opportunities to explore important topics such as kindness, friendship, inclusion, diversity, child safety, recognising trusted adults, respectful relationships and caring for ourselves, others and the environment. These conversations help children develop confidence, a strong sense of identity and the social and emotional skills that support lifelong wellbeing.
At the heart of our Nurture Circle is the belief that secure relationships provide children with the confidence to explore their world, knowing they always have caring adults who will support, encourage and guide them. Embracing Risky Play
We believe children learn best when they are encouraged to challenge themselves, explore their capabilities and experience the excitement of trying something new. Through carefully supervised and thoughtfully planned risky play, children develop confidence, resilience, independence and sound decision-making skills.
Risky play is not about exposing children to danger—it is about providing safe opportunities to test limits, solve problems and learn to assess risk for themselves. Whether climbing, balancing, jumping, building, exploring natural environments or navigating uneven surfaces, children gain valuable life skills while developing confidence in their own abilities.
Our educators carefully assess each environment and activity to ensure risks are appropriate for children's age, stage of development and individual abilities. Rather than removing every challenge, we support children to think critically, make safe choices and build resilience through real-life experiences.

Food, Nutrition & Healthy Eating
At Little Handprints Woolooware, we believe that healthy bodies support healthy minds. Nutritious meals are an important part of every child's day, providing the energy they need to learn, play, explore and grow.
We are proud to partner with Kids Gourmet Food, a specialist provider of freshly prepared meals designed specifically for children in early learning settings. Their nutritious, balanced menus are developed to support children's growth and development while introducing a wide variety of delicious flavours and ingredients.
Each day, children enjoy wholesome meals and snacks that are carefully planned to meet the nutritional needs of growing children. Meals are prepared using quality ingredients and are designed to encourage healthy eating habits from an early age.
Our menus offer a variety of seasonal foods and culturally diverse meals, helping children explore new tastes while building positive relationships with food. Mealtimes are relaxed, social experiences where children are encouraged to serve themselves where appropriate, develop independence, practise table manners and enjoy conversations with their peers and educators.
We recognise that every child is unique. We work closely with families and Kids Gourmet Food to ensure children with allergies, medical conditions, cultural requirements or dietary preferences receive meals that are safe, nutritious and appropriate to their individual needs. Children's health and safety are always our highest priority.
Healthy eating is also woven into our curriculum. Through cooking experiences, gardening, sustainability projects and discussions about food, children develop an understanding of where food comes from, the importance of balanced nutrition and how healthy choices support their wellbeing.

For us, reconciliation is more than an annual event—it is an ongoing journey.
