Our rooms
At Little Handprints Woolooware, every stage of childhood is celebrated. Our thoughtfully designed learning environments support children as they grow, offering nurturing care, meaningful relationships and engaging experiences that build confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.
Each room has its own unique identity, inspired by the local Dharawal language and the natural world around us.
Bimbala Room
INFANTS 0 - 2 years
Bimbala, meaning shellfish, reflects the gentle beginnings of life's journey. Just as shellfish are nurtured and protected by the sea, our youngest children are surrounded by warmth, security and loving relationships.
The first two years of life are filled with extraordinary growth and discovery. During this important stage, our priority is building secure, trusting relationships that help babies feel safe, settled and emotionally connected.
Our educators provide warm, responsive care that follows each child's individual routines for feeding, sleeping and play, recognising that consistency between home and our service helps children develop a strong sense of security and belonging.
Through songs, stories, sensory experiences, movement, outdoor exploration and loving interactions, babies begin to develop communication, confidence and curiosity about the world around them. Every cuddle, smile and conversation supports healthy brain development and lays the foundation for lifelong learning.
Bilima Room
TODDLER 2 - 3 years
Bilima, meaning turtle, symbolises resilience, curiosity and steady growth. Like the turtle, toddlers are becoming more confident explorers, discovering their world one step at a time.
Our educators create engaging environments where children are encouraged to investigate, make choices and develop confidence through play.
This stage is filled with language development, imagination, creativity and growing friendships. Children are supported to build independence through everyday routines, develop self-help skills, express their emotions, solve problems and learn to cooperate with others.
With opportunities for outdoor play, creative experiences, music, movement and hands-on learning, toddlers are encouraged to explore their world while feeling supported by caring educators who celebrate every achievement along the way.
Buri Buri Room
PRESCHOOL 3 - 5 years
Buri Buri, meaning humpback whale, celebrates strength, wisdom and the remarkable journey of growth. Just as humpback whales undertake incredible annual migrations along our coastline, our preschool children are preparing for the exciting journey to school and beyond.
Through a balance of child-led play and intentional teaching, children develop the knowledge, confidence and skills needed for a successful transition to school while continuing to enjoy the magic of childhood.
Our preschool program encourages early literacy and numeracy, scientific thinking, creativity, collaboration, emotional wellbeing and independence through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
School readiness at Little Handprints is about far more than learning letters and numbers. It is about helping children become confident learners, capable problem-solvers, kind friends and resilient individuals who are ready for the next stage of their journey.
Growing Together
Throughout every stage of childhood, our educators build genuine relationships with children and families, creating a consistent and nurturing environment where every child feels they belong.
Guided by our values of Nurture, Connect, Grow - we celebrate each milestone, encourage every curiosity and support children to become confident, compassionate and lifelong learners.
The Dharawal room names used throughout our service have been chosen to honour the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and play, fostering children's connection to local culture, language and the natural environment.
